Dua Lipa, an English singer-songwriter was born in London on 22 August 1995. After a stint as an actress and model she signed with Warner Bros Records. She launched her self-titled debut album in the year 2017. The album peaked at third place at the U.K. Albums Chart and produced eight singles including Be the One I.D.G.A.F as well as the U.K. number-one single New Rules which peaked at sixth on the charts in the United States. The album, which has now been recognized as Platinum in several countries across the world was awarded the two Brit Awards (in 2018) in the categories of British Female Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Artist. Dua Lipa was conceived at the age of 18 in London by Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa rexha (mother) and Dukagjin Lilipa (father). Her maternal grandmother is Bosnian. Her family tree can be traced back to Peja, the Kosovo cities of Peja. Her grandparents were both historians and professors. Her siblings include Rina and Gjin. The father of Lipa, who was a guitar player and singer in the Kosovan group Oda has influenced her in a musical way. Her musical influences were derived from her father's music which featured his compositions as well as songs by artists like David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead Stereophonics Stereophonics. Lipa began to sing at the age of five. The Sylvia Young Theater School was where she started singing at the age of nine. Lipa recorded the song If I Ain't Gotta You by Alicia Keys and Beautiful by Christina Aguilera on YouTube. Lipa made her debut record contract in 2014 through Warner Bros. Records. New Love, Lipa's debut single, was released in August 2015.
